Famous Japanese Bakery opens in Singapore

Asanoya, a popular Japanese bakery in Japan for over 80 years, will be opening its first outlet outside of Japan in Singapore on 15 November 2014. With 10 bakery stores across Japan, the Singapore bakery cafe, with 80 seating capacity, will be opened at Wilby Central at No. 15 Queen Street.

 

Founded in 1933 in Karuizawa, Japan, Asanoya is famous for its rustic Japanese-style bread which has a European twist and is baked in a traditional stone oven. The bakery café will be serving a range of freshly baked breads, sandwiches, salads, wine, Japanese beer and selected products that are imported directly from Asanoya Japan.

 

 

To maintain the quality and authenticity of its’ baked goods, Asanoya will import specialist ingredients, including Nagano Mori Apple and Hokkaido Red Bean from Japan and the chief bakers at the Singapore bakery had been trained at the Karuizawa Kyuudo outlet in Karuizawa, Japan.

 

The launch of Asanoya in Singapore comes as the result of a joint venture between Tan Chong International Limited (TCIL), a motor, property and distribution company, and Asanoya Limited.
